The Simulated Battle in Austerlitz
A Simulated Battle in Austerlitz occurs when two large armies, each over 100 battalions strong, meet during movement (see rules section 7.2.). The Simulated Battle is like a separate wargame itself and pits the wits of the two commanders and their skill in wielding the complex tactical arms of the Napoleonic Era. Riflemen can be positioned in woods in skirmish order, artillery placed on the highest elevation, and heavy cavalry massed in column in clear terrain with orders to attack enemy infantry and reform. A Simulated Battle consists of a setup phase, battle resolution, and Simulated Battle report. We have created a Simulated Battle GUI to graphically render the battlefield, ease order entry and setup, and view the battle result.
Best of all, Simulated Battles in our games are processed at no extra charge! And, we offer free practice Simulated Battles - click for details.
