"Soldiers, I am pleased with you! You have, on this day of Austerlitz, justified all that I had expected from your courage, and you have honored your eagles with immortal glory." - Napoleon at Austerlitz, December 2, 1805
Austerlitz: The Rise of the Eagle is a play-by-mail game offered in Germany, Greece, Austria and Great Britain for over a decade. It is a historical simulation of the Napoleonic Era in which players choose one of sixteen predominate countries of the period. The game ends when up to three empires have formed a game-winning alliance. To win, a player must manage a strong economy, conduct skillful diplomacy, and successfully wage war to conquer Europe and the colonies. We offer the game for play by email using a specially designed graphical user inerface (GUI) for MS Windows.
New Player Help: A special section of our web forum is devoted to describing the basics of the game for new players. Additionally, you can post and ask experienced players any questions you may have about the game and rules. You will also be able to read active game diplomacy, and get a feel for the way Austerlitz works.
Overview: The links below will provide an overview of the game. To view maps and events in active games, go to our games page. Follow the GUI button at left to learn more about the software. The rules to the game are available in pdf and MS Help format.
